Stew has deep down been Team BoxMate from the beginning, a user of the app from day one at his original training arena CrossFit Buxton he now heads up the coaching at Fit Missions.

His role within Team BoxMate is not limited to training and competing, he constantly uses the platform to it's full potential and gives feedback/ideas to keep the system improving.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?

I’ve jumped out of a plane a good few times and a helicopter

When did you start CrossFit and what made you try it?

I started CrossFit In 2015, I liked the idea of mixing running/rowing/biking with weightlifting really, I started to really enjoy all the different exercise you do compared to conventional bodybuilding

What was your sport or fitness background prior to CrossFit?

I was big into football from young, so mainly my fitness came from playing all the time. I use to consider a game of football training my legs

What are your training goals for this year?
Compete in the rocket category at the Rainhill trials again, would love to get into the final again as well
Name some of your CrossFit achievements

Becoming a Level 2 coach last summer, competing at battle of Britain at Easter, mixing it with the big boys

What was your latest PB?

Hang Snatch at 85KG

What would you consider as a CrossFit Weakness that you would like to improve on?

My Olympic lifting overhead, that’s something id like to get much stronger with

What do you love about CrossFit that keeps you coming back?

I love the competitive side to it & the fact you can always get better at something, whether that’s improving numbers on one thing or technique with an exercise

How has BoxMate improved your training?

The fact that I can track all my scores and numbers makes me know exactly where I'm at with training

What is your favourite BoxMate Feature?

As a member I would say the High fives, keeps it interactive with others. As a coach, I would say the programme analysis, always good to look back on how varied the programme has been

What would you do if BoxMate was taken away from you now?

Be back to the whiteboard, writing the workouts on there, taking a photo of my scores then trying to browse through 100s of photos to find the scores. So when you think back to that, tracking scores comes near on impossible

Megan Marchildon-Breed


Meg started with BoxMate at CrossFit Buxton (The home of BoxMate) when she moved from the north east and has been a very active user relying on it daily!

As well as just being a user Meg is constantly promoting the brand and spreading the word to other gyms in the UK which we appreciate greatly!

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?

I am an 3x All American Heptathlete

When did you start CrossFit and what made you try it?

I started June 2016 because my bf (and now husband) was into CF and he invited me to a drop class in with him at CF Teeside. I was addicted very shortly after.

What was your sport or fitness background prior to CrossFit?

9 years of Athletics, 6 years of volleyball, 4 years of Basketball and power tumbling gymnastics when I was younger.

What are your training goals for this year?

I would like to hit an OLY total of 170kg and make it into the elite category of a CF sanctioned event. Top 1000 in the world after the open and top 50 in the U.K.

Name some of your CrossFit achievements

1st at Battle of Britain 2019, 3rd SiD RX individualist 2019 and I have won quite a few smaller CF comps.

What was your latest PB?

Hit a 140 deadlift at SportsDaze in Manchester May 2019.

What would you consider as a CrossFit Weakness that you would like to improve on?

I would like to improve my AB stamina and be able to link ring muscle ups.

What do you love about CrossFit that keeps you coming back?

I love the community aspect of CF the most. I also love that their is so many different movements and always something to work and improve on. I love that it is forever changing.

How has BoxMate improved your training?

BoxMate allows me to keep track of all of my personal bests and goals. It also give me a platform to show off my achievements which keeps me always wanting more. I love how easy it is to use and the fact I can keep track and compare myself to fellow classmates.

What is your favourite BoxMate Feature?

I love the GIFS!!!!

What would you do if BoxMate was taken away from you now?

I would not know any of my personal bests and I would not be very happy as I have everything saved in BoxMate! I would throw a fit 100%
